The two, who are known for their philanthropic gestures, exchanged words during the event with Mo telling Kirubi that he does know what Africa is.
Mo told Kirubi that he knows Africa through the media and he should travel to understand what Africa is and the real problems facing Africa.
Mo also said Kirubi thinks that everybody in Africa lives in opulence like he lives in Nairobi and asked him to travel around the 54 countries and he will have deep knowledge of Africa particularly on poverty levels and civilization.
Mo, who currently lives in Britain, also urged African leaders to emulate outgoing Namibia President, Hifikipunye Pahambe, who scooped the 2014 Mo-Ibrahim Prize Award worth Sh 450 million.
The event was held at Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
