The family of Paytone Mitch Opiyo, an officer in the Kenya Air Force, is currently in mourning following his tragic passing in a fatal collision involving two motorcycles. This unfortunate incident took place on Sunday night along the Bondo-Usenge Road as Officer Opiyo was transporting his brother.
Tragically, Officer Opiyo and the rider of the other motorcycle lost their lives at the scene, leaving behind grieving families and a shocked community. The Siaya County Police Commander, Cleti Kimaiyo, confirmed the accident and reported that two passengers riding pillion sustained injuries. They were promptly transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital for urgent medical care.
This heartbreaking event comes shortly after another significant loss for the nation—the fatal helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla, and nine others. The helicopter went down shortly after General Ogolla’s official tour in the Rift Valley region, causing shockwaves throughout the nation.
