Mugithi sensation artist Joyce wa Mama is admitted at a city hospital after she got into an argument with unidentified person who is believed to have splashed her face with acid.
The musician is well known for her hit song alongside Samidoh, ‘Ihoha’ among other songs such as ‘wedo wi cama’.
The incident is believed to have happened at a club during the artists birthday celebration after an argument ensued. According to the reports shared online by various Kikuyu media houses, Joyce with 2 other friends were attacked and in the midst of the confrontation, acid was poured on her face.
“It was Wa Mama who screamed first, saying she could not see … There was apprehension in the party and three companions of the songbird also reported they could not open up their eyes,” said a Nairobi-based musician.
The cause of the alteration is yet to be known as the details remain scant on the matter. The musician is currently being treated in the hospital and more details on this will be shared later.
