Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi recently responded to the dramatic arrest of Kenyan gospel singer Ringtone Apoko on Friday, July 21. However, Omondi, being familiar with Ringtone’s attention-seeking tactics, questioned the authenticity of the arrest. Speaking to Mungai Eve Media, Eric and fellow comedian Eddie Butita speculated that the singer might be shooting a new music video.
Amidst the jokes, Eric Omondi also shared his ambitious plan to set a Guinness World Record by getting arrested multiple times. He aims to achieve the record of being the individual with the highest number of arrests globally and intends to accomplish this by being arrested 21 times before the end of the year.
Ringtone’s arrest reportedly occurred after he allegedly stormed into a Sudanese home in Karen. The homeowners claim that Ringtone had rented out their property, which they inherited from their late father in 2012, but had been unable to access due to the singer’s actions.
In light of these circumstances, Eric Omondi and Eddie Butita humorously commented on Ringtone’s arrest, considering his past antics and theatrical behaviors. They jokingly speculated that the arrest could be part of a music video, given Ringtone’s propensity for seeking attention. As for Eric’s aspiration to set a unique Guinness World Record, he aims to achieve the record for the highest number of individual arrests, a feat that would require him to be arrested 21 times before the year concludes.
However, despite the light-hearted banter, the issue surrounding the property dispute and alleged actions of Ringtone remains a serious matter for the homeowners involved. They express their grievances over the situation and the difficulties they’ve faced in attempting to reclaim their home.
