Eldoret, a town known for its champions, has recently been in the news due to the brutal murder of a popular fashion designer and model, Edwin Chiloba. However, another story has emerged from the town that has caught the attention of the internet. Photos of a tall man wearing a short dress above the knee have been trending online. According to reports, the man is a student at Pwani University.
Chiloba’s family was shocked by the news of his death and revealed that their son had been raised with strong moral values. The university student was working hard to achieve his dreams before his untimely passing.
The man in the trending photos is seen at the airport, dressed in a blue dress with flowers and black heels. It is not known where he was traveling to. Some of his classmates have recognized him and stated that he has always dressed in a similar manner during classes and even after graduation.
In Kenyan society, many people prefer the LGBTQ community to keep their activities private in order to avoid influencing young children. Some individuals have expressed that they believe cross-dressing and similar behavior should be done privately, citing the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible. Others have stated that some men wish they were women, and that this is evident in their actions.
With Kenyan celebrities like Crazy Kennar, Flaqo, and Eric Omondi normalizing cross-dressing in their acts, it is becoming a growing concern as more LGBTQ members come out and surprise Kenyans with their numbers.
