The United States government has officially announced the release of the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery 2026 results. Commonly referred to as the Green Card Lottery, this program offers selected individuals the opportunity to apply for permanent residency in the United States.
Kenyans who applied between October 2 and November 5, 2024, can now check their application status online.
Where to Check the DV-2026 Results
Applicants must use the official Entrant Status Check portal to confirm whether they have been selected. To access the results, you’ll need the confirmation number provided at the time of application. The results will remain available until September 30, 2026.
According to the U.S. Department of State, “DV-2026 entrants should retain their confirmation number at least until September 30, 2026.”
Next Steps for Selected Applicants
If you have been selected, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi will guide you through the next stages of the process, which include:
- Completing the Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application
- Submitting required documents
- Attending an in-person visa interview
However, being selected does not guarantee that you will receive a visa. It simply means you are eligible to continue with the DV process.
Be Aware of Scams
The U.S. government does not send email or postal notifications regarding selection. Applicants are advised to beware of fraudulent messages requesting money or personal information. All updates and instructions should be accessed through the official E-DV website.
