Kelvin Shaban: meet the Tycoon who owns the Popular Laviva Lounge along Thika Road!

The Laviva Lounge, Bar, and Grill, located along the Thika Superhighway at the Spur Mall in Ruiru, is a popular entertainment destination for Kenyan party-goers. Founded in 2018, the club offers a range of drinks, including cocktails, whiskey, gin, and beer, at affordable prices. The lounge draws a large clientele, primarily from nearby college students from JKUAT, Kenyatta University, and Nairobi Institute of Business Studies. The club utilizes celebrity influencers to host their events, such as Mingle Wednesdays hosted by Thee Pluto, Game Night Monday, Reggae Vibes Tuesday, Katika Thursday, Wild Friday, and Glum Saturdays. Notable musicians, such as Adekunle Gold, Khaligraph Jones, and Sauti Sol, have performed at the club in the past.

Kelvin Shaban, a Nairobi-based businessman, is the owner of the popular Laviva Lounge. Shaban is known for his collection of luxury vehicles, including Range Rovers and Mercedes Benz, all with customized license plates, “KCV 001.” He explains that the customized license plates reflect his personality, as he strives to stand out in everything he does, be it business or politics.

Shaban has a growing interest in politics and has been seen with political figures such as Moses Kuria, Babu Owino, Sabina Chege, and others. He recently ran for the Roysambu constituency Member of Parliament under the Chama Cha Kazi party in the 2022 general elections, but was unsuccessful.
