There was drama in Ruai as police engaged in a speed chase with a car which was full of naked citizens in Ruai after being suspected to be armed robbers.
It is reported that the police at the AP Driving School, Ruai received an anonymous call saying that there was a car in the neighborhood whose occupants looked suspicious.
The officers jumped into action geared up for a battle with alleged robbers.
“Suddenly, they saw silhouettes of human beings quickly jump into the vehicle that sped off, leaving behind a thick cloud of dust. Determined to establish the identity of the suspects and their mission, the three officers also went for their all-weather Toyota Land Cruiser van,” DCI said.
The police engaged in a speed chase along Kagundo road at 3am.
“The police van was struggling behind the Ford, and the suspects showed no sign of stopping after a five-kilometre chase. But officers of the law aren’t to be easily outwitted. They deflated two of its tires in two precise shots, bringing the dramatic chase to an abrupt end,” DCI said.
As the police approached the ill-fated truck, four naked occupants, two male and two female, jumped out of the truck in surrender.
“No sooner had the cops approached the ill-fated truck than four naked occupants, two men and two ladies, jumped out, lifting their hands up in surrender.”
‘Sisi sio wezi,’ pleaded one of the ladies. It was such an anti-climax for the law enforcement officers who had earlier swung into action thinking that it was another action-packed night, of engaging city thugs,” DCI added.
The truck was towed to the station as investigations continue.
