Diana Marua reveals why she was reluctant to marry Bahati: “Ni Mtoto kwangu “

In a candid discussion on their official YouTube channel, rapper Diana Marua opened up about her initial reluctance to marry Kelvin Kioko, also known as Bahati. She outlined several reasons that made her skeptical about their relationship’s potential for success.

One of the primary concerns Diana expressed was the age difference between them. She admitted that she had reservations about their future because Bahati was three years younger than her. Diana acknowledged that societal norms often dictate that the man should be older in a relationship, and she felt compelled to abide by these standards.

Bahati had questioned her about her doubts regarding marriage, prompting Diana to respond, “I already told you, the number one factor was age. You are three years younger than me. Society says you cannot date someone younger than you. I believed that if I wanted to settle down, it would be with someone older than me. As long as he’s at least a year older, we are fine.”

Another aspect that made Diana hesitant was Bahati’s deep devotion to religion. She mentioned that he frequently referenced the Bible in conversation, which didn’t align with her own beliefs and values. Diana even remarked, “Do you know that when we met, it was all about the Bible, Bible, Bible? I used to respect you.”

However, Bahati countered her concerns by emphasizing how he had contributed to her personal growth and well-being since they got married. He claimed that Diana appeared undernourished when they first met, but he had provided her with a comfortable life that allowed her to flourish. “You were malnourished. Look at how I have helped you gain weight. The mature men understand this, but I have assisted you immensely,” he asserted.

Despite facing criticism and judgment from some fans due to their age difference, Bahati and Diana have chosen to cherish their relationship. They have been together for nearly five years, have four children, and continue to prioritize their bond.
