Millicent Ayua, popularly known as Dem Wa Facebook, has shared a heartbreaking story about being accused of being a member of the Illuminati cult.
In an emotional speech shared online, the rising comedienne recounted how her generosity was misconstrued in her home village in Trans Nzoia County. She revealed that after buying school uniforms for a young girl and helping secure school fees from a local politician, the girl’s parents shockingly set the uniform on fire.
“There’s a girl from this village whom I supported. I even sought help from a politician to ensure she could go to school. But after she enrolled, people started saying I brought Illuminati sponsors to help her. They burned the uniform and everything else,” Dem Wa Facebook lamented.
The comedienne firmly denied the allegations, emphasizing that her success and earnings were legitimate. She explained that her only goal was to give back to the community.
“My people, there’s no Illuminati here. Out there, people work hard. If I were in the Illuminati, I’d have built a mansion by now,” she clarified.
Dem Wa Facebook further shared that she built a house for her parents as a way to inspire young girls in her village to strive for success and work toward transforming their community.
“It pains me when I’m in Nairobi working hard to bring change to our village, yet girls here are dropping out of school. Why? Is it because I stopped bringing sanitary towels?” she questioned.
She passionately urged the girls in her village to take charge of their lives and work just as hard.
“We don’t sleep. Don’t think we’re out here building our lives while resting. We work hard and smart. While I’m in Nairobi hustling, you should also hustle and make progress,” she encouraged them.
Dem Wa Facebook’s story is a testament to the challenges faced by those who try to uplift their communities, only to be met with resistance and misconceptions. Despite the accusations, she remains committed to empowering her village and inspiring the next generation.
