Chelsea Defender Fikayo Tomori has sealed a deal to join 18-time Italy Champions AC Milan. Tomori has recently represented AC Milan where he has spent the 2020-2021 season on loan.
Tomori had a wonderful season in Italy, fitting seamlessly at the back alongside Simon Kjaer and managing 19 appearances in all competitions. In addition to that he managed to break Ronaldo’s record of rising highest to score a headed goal.
The deal is expected to go through after AC Milan triggered Tomori’s €28.5 million release clause as part of their obligation to buy the player at the end of his loan move. Tomori’s spell as the Stamford Bridge has come to a sad yet joyous end after making his debut with a rocket-goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He unfortunately fell down the pecking order behind Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, César Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger. Tomori has not yet had an opportunity to impress the tactical Thomas Tuchel.
Stefano Pioli had confirmed AC Milan want to sign Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on a permanent deal heaping lots of praise on the player.
“We want to buy Tomori on a permanent deal from Chelsea. Our intention is clear and also Fikayo’s decision (staying at Milan).”
