A Canadian resident named Osase Naga recently made the decision to trim her hair due to the exorbitant cost of braiding services in the country. Having arrived in Canada just a month ago, in December 2023, Osase shared her experience in a TikTok video, revealing that she opted for a lowcut hairstyle after learning about the steep prices charged by braiders in Canada.
The urgency of Osase’s decision was heightened by the fact that she had not yet started earning income in the country. A quick inquiry into the cost of various braiding styles in Canada unveiled that box braids could amount to 240 Canadian dollars (equivalent to 162,000), while jumbo braids were priced at 180 Canadian dollars (122,000).
The reactions to Osase’s decision were mixed. @Fivans_Braids_Moncton commented, “It’s because you keep converting the money to Naira. The question is: Are you earning in Naira?
