Allan Kiuna, the founder of JCC, recently disclosed that he underwent cancer treatment for a year. Grateful for what he considers a divine intervention during his challenging time, the man of God shared his journey, highlighting the financial aspect of his medical care, which amounted to a staggering Ksh 460 million.
Reflecting on his year-long treatment in the United States, Kiuna emphasized the magnitude of divine blessings by stating, “For one year when I was in the United States, my treatment cost 3 million dollars (KSh 460 million). And I did not take a single coin out of my pocket because the God of heaven blessed me.”
This revelation unfolded during a thanksgiving ceremony where Allan Kiuna was accompanied by his wife, Kathy, and other well-wishers. Kiuna was initially diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer in 2018/2019, marking the beginning of his ongoing battle with the illness.
Throughout the subsequent years, he underwent various treatments, facing the physical and emotional toll of chemotherapy. However, in a testament to his resilience and the power of faith, Kiuna shared the joyous news that he is now cancer-free. His journey, initially kept private, was finally disclosed in 2019, shedding light on the difficult period that he and his family experienced.
Kathy Kiuna, Allan’s wife, reflected on the challenging times, revealing the impact of the cancer diagnosis on their lives. She spoke of the physical toll of chemotherapy, describing how it affected her husband’s appearance and mobility. Despite the difficulties, Kathy Kiuna expressed her belief that the challenges were a necessary part of their journey, leading them to a higher spiritual plane.
In her own words, “Last year, it was a difficult time for us. My husband was diagnosed with cancer and was not there to seek treatment. Chemotherapy caused him to lose hair, gain weight, and become unable to do much physically. He could not stand or walk for a long time and had to be lifted down due to severe pain in his legs. I see my husband laying hands on the sick and they get well, and I realize he had to go through what he went through to reach a new level, and that’s what it will be like for you.” The Kiuna family’s journey serves as a powerful testament to the strength of faith and the transformative nature of adversity.
