Background.
Michael Ogada Olunga was born in 1994 26th March in the streets of Lakisama, Nairobi. His father Joseph Ogada Olunga died when he was 7 years. His mother Alice Ogada is the one who raised him. Their matrimonial home is in Nyanza region.

Education .

Olunga went to Baba Dogo Primary school, passed KCPE very well and joined Upper Hill Secondary . He scored A- in KCSE and joined the Technical University of Kenya.He graduated with a degree in Geospatial Engineering.

Football Career.

He started to love playing football while still at primary school at the age of 8 with other kids in the street barefoot, and they suffered injuries at times.

His serious football career begun at Liberty Sports Academy in the Nairobi County League. He helped the team to be unbeaten by scoring 32 goals for the 2012 season. The team was promoted to Nairobi provincial league.

In 2012 December 19th Liberty loaned him to Tusker on a one year deal. He finished the 2013 season with only 2 goals for Tusker. He was again loaned to Thika United and later joined Gor Mahia in 2015.

Michael helped GorMahia to win the league unbeaten and the 2015 season, he was the top scorer of Kenyan league and he scored 19 goals.

Going to play Abroad

Sweden
He became a superstar in Kenyan league and international clubs were interested in him. On February 17, 2016, Michael signed a four-year contract with Swedish club Djurgårdens IF. Here on his first match he was crowned the man of the match.
In Swedem He scored 12 goals in 12 games. Helped his team to finish at the top 5. He won the newcomer of the year award.

Playing in China and Spain.

His excellent performance made him to be signed by a Chinese club, Guizhou Zhicheng, in 2017.

However on September 1, 2017, Michael was loaned to Girona FC in La Liga for one year. In La Liga he didn’t get much playing time, but he set a record by scoring  a hat-trick in 22 minutes after coming from the bench against Las Palma’s.

Playing in Japan .

Engineer Olunga joined a Japanese club known as Kashiwa Reysol, on August 10th 2018. He made history by scoring eight goals for Kashiwa in a winning match of 13-1 against Kyoto Sanga, on 24 November 2019.

This was the most fruitful season in his football career. He scored 28 goals in the entire season . He  won the Golden boot and the J-League 2020 MVP. He became the first African player to win the J-league MVP award.

Playing in Qatar.

In January 2021, he moved to Qatar Stars Leaguechampions Al-Duhail for a fee of €6 million, and the contract was for three seasons.

In this league he became a maestro and the small god of the club. It is his current club (2022). He scored several hat trick and even emerged the top scorer of the club and the league in 2021 season.

playing for Harambee Stars.

The football maestro made his debut in Kenya’s first team ,On March 28, 2015. His first match was a friendly match between Kenya and  Seychelles at the Stade Linité in Victoria.

Olunga scores his first goal for Kenya  in a friendly match against South Sudan, which ended in a 2-0 win. Since then he kept own shinning till he was made a captain after Victor Wanyama retirement.

Marriage life.

Engineer Michael Olunga is not yet married but he was in a relationship with Grace, he introduced her to the public in December 2016 when she was celebrating her birthday.

Salary.

Olunga earns Ksh 180M per year , Ksh 15M per month, Ksh 3,750,000 per week, Ksh 535, 714 per day, Ksh 22,321 per hour and Ksh 372 per minute.

He has a Multimillion mansion back in Nyanza and he is among the richest footballers in Kenya. He drives expensive cars and lives a very wealthy lifestyle.
