Among the prominent figures in Kenya’s DJ scene, Joseph Mwenda Munoru, known as DJ Joe Mfalme, stands out prominently. Born on September 9, 1986, in Meru, his passion for mixing music began at a young age, inspired by early Kenyan DJs, particularly DJ Pinye.

DJ Joe Mfalme launched his career in 2008, making his mark in the Pilsner Mfalme DJ competition where he initially secured the first runner-up position. This success led to his pivotal role at Capital FM, where he quickly became a fixture, hosting various gigs including the popular morning show “Lift Off.”
Despite facing challenges, such as a temporary suspension and sensitivity training, his career trajectory remained upward. Today, DJ Joe Mfalme commands some of the highest fees in the country, charging around Sh. 170,000 for regional events and over Sh. 210,000 for international appearances. For club performances, his rates range between Sh. 40,000 and Sh. 50,000, while private parties or university shows could cost between Sh. 60,000 and Sh. 70,000.
Beyond his DJing prowess, DJ Joe Mfalme operates a successful company offering diverse services like event audio solutions, social media influencing, photography, and brand activations. His impressive client list includes major brands such as Huawei, Safaricom, Shell, KCB, and Coca-Cola, contributing to his professional stature.
