Ronny Kiplangat, the brother of renowned cartoonist Gideon Kibet Bull, has been found safe after a harrowing kidnapping ordeal.
Ronny was released in Machakos at around 3 a.m., and, in an unusual turn of events, the kidnappers gave him KSh 2,000 for his fare back home. Despite the traumatic experience, he appeared in good spirits when he posed for a picture, showing no visible signs of injury.
This development brought a wave of relief across Kenya, as many had been deeply concerned about his safety. Ronny’s disappearance had caused immense distress to his family, especially since he had gone missing shortly after meeting with Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah.
While the family celebrated Ronny’s return, their happiness was tempered by the fact that his brother, who was with him during the incident, remains missing. The uncertainty surrounding his brother’s whereabouts continues to weigh heavily on the family.
Larry Madowo, a prominent news reporter, shed more light on the incident. He revealed that Ronny was abducted from Kikuyu, a town near Nairobi, and later released in Machakos. The kidnappers’ act of giving him fare money has puzzled many, raising questions about the nature and motive behind the abduction.
For now, while Ronny’s safe return offers a glimmer of hope, his family’s ordeal remains far from over as they await news about his missing brother.
