Meru County MP Alice has addressed a viral video showing her making hand signals during the African Institute of Professional Counsellors Association (AIPCA) event, insisting that the footage has been widely misinterpreted.
Speaking publicly, MP Alice clarified that she was not engaging in any inappropriate or secretive communication, but was simply calling her personal assistant to bring her an item.
“The video showing me making signals at AIPCA has been misunderstood. I was simply calling my personal assistant to bring me something,” she said.
Her explanation comes after the clip circulated widely on social media, sparking speculation and online debate. Supporters of the MP have backed her account, while others continue to question the context of the signals.
The incident highlights how quickly public figures’ actions can be misread, particularly during formal events, and serves as a reminder of the scrutiny politicians face in the digital age.
