Former presidential hopeful Kevin Odhiambo Onyango, popularly known as Dr. Cassypool, has praised Ohangla star Prince Indah, calling him the “only mature artist in Kenya.”
Speaking in a recent interview with vloggers, Cassypool described Indah as the only artist with the wisdom and discernment to keep his private life separate from his career.
“He understands that music is his profession, while his family remains private,” Cassypool noted, highlighting Indah’s choice to avoid bringing his wife and child into the limelight.
“Indah stands out because he focuses on his art without scandals, unlike others who often find themselves caught up in controversy,” Cassypool added, emphasizing the artist’s maturity and dedication.
He further urged Kenyan fans to continue their strong support for local talent and encouraged other artists to look up to Prince Indah as a role model for how to balance personal and professional life effectively.
Prince Indah, who began his music career in 2015, has steadily risen to become one of Kenya’s most prominent Ohangla musicians.
His debut single, Cinderella, was released in 2015. In December 2016, he formed the Malaika Ohangla Band with 18 members, making him the youngest bandleader at the time.
Over the years, Indah has released numerous hit songs, including Mama Watoto, Weche Hera, Chike Hera, Near Migori, and Nyar Jaluo, which have gained unexpected popularity as far away as Myanmar.
He also made history as the first Ohangla artist to receive the YouTube Silver Play Button, awarded to channels reaching over 100,000 subscribers.
