Three men arrested for allegedly beating a 22-year-old man to death for stealing an iPhone 6.

Three men have been arrested after they allegedly beat to death a man after he stole an IPhone.

The three, Felix Sunday, Shomuye Musa and Oluwatobi Michael are said to have beaten Tunji George who succumbed to injuries.

The three were arrested on Wednesday, October 20, after a citizen reported the three to local authorities.

Giving a report, the police spokesperson, Abimboia said;

“The suspects were arrested following a report by one Bola George who reported at Onipanu Divisional Headquarters that her brother was alleged to have stolen a iPhone 6 at Keke hotel in Iyana Iyesi Ota, consequent upon which the deceased was tied with rope in the hotel and toutured to death.”

Having realised that the victim was about giving up the ghost, the suspects quickly rushed him to the hospital, but before they got to the hospital, the victim had kicked the bucket.”

“The Divisional Police Officer, Bamidele Job, immediately mobilized his men to the scene and apprehended two of the suspects while the remaining one was arrested in the hotel.”

On interrogation, the suspects told the police that they strongly suspected the deceased was the person who stole the iPhone 6, and in order to recover the said phone from him, they decided to touture him not knowing that it would result to his death,” he said.
