Expressing his gratitude on his Facebook page, Arocho conveyed a heartfelt message to the management of Royal Media Services for the invaluable opportunity they provided him with during his service.
Reflecting on the past four years, he reminisced about the extraordinary moments, highlighting his pivotal role as a contributor to Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday Show.
“Four years of unforgettable moments at Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday Show! As I bid farewell, I want to express my gratitude to the management of Royal Media Services for entrusting me with this role. I also extend my thanks to my fellow panelists Mukami Wambora, Steve Shitera, and Zitah Jimoi. Special appreciation goes to the Head of RMS Sports Centre, Isaac Swila, for the memorable experiences at work. I’ve truly relished every moment of my time here,” Arocho shared on his Facebook post.
However, behind the scenes, Arocho’s departure was instigated by a significant development. His recent move to TV 47, another esteemed media outlet, set off a chain of events that ultimately led to his decision to part ways with Citizen TV.
Having transitioned from Radio Jambo, Arocho joined TV 47 in 2023, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest due to the competitive nature of the media industry.
“Arocho was informed by TV 47 that Citizen TV is a direct competitor, and there was a conflict of interest. Consequently, he had to resign from his position,” a source stated, as quoted by TUKO.CO.KE.
As a resolution to the conflict, it was reported that TV 47 increased Arocho’s salary, allowing him to fully focus on his new responsibilities without the need for dual commitments.
