Tedd Josiah Says in 20 Years, Sautisol Will Have Been Forgotten – kamati ya roho chafu

Kenyan music producer Tedd Josiah has raised concerns over the lack of government involvement in preserving Kenyan music culture. According to Tedd, Kenyan boy band Sautisol, currently doing well, will be forgotten in 20 years due to the failure of the government to preserve their legacy.

Tedd Josiah explained that in other countries, the government is actively involved in preserving music to ensure that future generations get to know big artists who once ruled the music industry. He further noted that in such countries, culture centers are set up to tell stories of their music legacies.

Tedd expressed his disappointment in the Kenyan government, stating that they have failed to support the music industry. He highlighted that the Collective Management Organizations (CMO), tasked with acting on behalf of artists and producers, only benefit a few individuals. Tedd cited an example of CMOs that collect money as royalties and award themselves the biggest share, causing him to quit music production.

In conclusion, Tedd Josiah has called for the Kenyan government to take an active role in preserving the country’s music culture and legacy. He believes that without such support, even current successful artists like Sautisol will be forgotten in the future.
