Unbelievable events continue to unfold in Kenya, with a recent video going viral online featuring a Kisii man confessing to an unconventional practice that has sparked widespread reactions, particularly among TikTok users.
The incident unfolded during the ‘Toboa Siri’ (reveal secret) session on Radio Jambo, one of Kenya’s renowned radio stations. Hosted by Mbusii and Lion during their reggae show, this segment provides an opportunity for individuals to share their concealed secrets or concerns.
In this peculiar case, a 27-year-old man from Kisii took the courage to share his unconventional secret. He began by recounting his history and how he found himself engaging in a bizarre ritual of sleeping with a banana tree on a daily basis.
According to the man, his unique behavior stemmed from a traumatic experience during his youth when he was very close to his uncle. They shared everything, from clothes to other essentials. Unfortunately, the uncle passed away under mysterious circumstances during a funeral where the cause of death remained undisclosed.
Driven by the need to uncover the truth about his uncle’s demise, the man discovered that his uncle had succumbed to HIV and AIDS. This revelation instilled a deep-seated fear of HIV in him, leading to a negative mindset about engaging in sexual activities with women.
The man explained that abstaining from sexual encounters proved to be a challenging task due to his easily aroused nature. Fearing the consequences of contracting HIV, he devised an unconventional method to satisfy his desires—using a banana tree as a substitute for intimate relationships.
In a shocking revelation, he disclosed that he had drilled a hole into a banana tree and would regularly insert his penis into it to fulfill his needs. Despite facing pressure from his parents to get married, the man expressed a lack of interest in women, finding solace and safety in his unconventional relationship with the banana tree.
Critics find the situation bizarre, questioning the man’s literacy on safe sexual practices. They argue that there are various methods, such as using protection or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), to engage in safe intercourse. Regardless, this unusual tale has left many baffled, highlighting the uniqueness of such occurrences within the Kenyan context.
