A 61-year-old woman is currently recovering at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Nairobi after enduring injuries caused by a self-proclaimed pastor who claimed to be ‘delivering’ her from illness in Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums.
The pastor, known as Daniel Muriithi, allegedly engaged in a disturbing act where he inserted his arms and hands into the woman’s private parts and extracted some of her internal organs, resulting in significant blood loss.
The victim, originally from Kisii County, was taken to the pastor by her children in the hope of finding healing after suffering from prolonged pain.
According to Kate Nyambura, a local resident, the woman underwent a week-long deliverance process during which she experienced severe bleeding, and basins were filled with blood.
The incident came to light when a village elder named Dominic Ndungu heard distressing cries coming from the pastor’s residence. Upon investigation, he found the pastor naked and the woman unconscious on a bed, surrounded by basins of blood and what appeared to be body organs.
Ndungu questioned Muriithi about the disturbing scene, and the pastor defended his actions, claiming that he was performing deliverance on the sick woman.
In light of this horrifying event, residents of Mukuru Kwa Njenga are urging fellow Kenyans to exercise caution in dealing with various religious denominations and to be wary of rogue pastors who may take advantage of vulnerable individuals.
