It has been a long time discussion on the health benefits of school meals laced with paraffin with conspiracy theories indicating that it is used to make the food more tastier.
Studies have shown that kerosene increases the sex urge which explains the rise of teenage pregnancies which are rampant in the country.
Kerosene also causes abdominal pains, ulcers and gastritis.
According to the study named Effects of Crude kerosene on testosterone levels, it showed that the belief that its use helps in taming the sex urge among boarding school students is a myth.
“Students are exposed to doses of kerosene as a dietary supplement usually without their consent,” read part of the research.
It also detailed that the serum testosterone is also responsible for enlargement of reproductive organs, production of sperms, frequency of erection and growth of nipples and pubic hair.
“The findings may explain the increase in the number of teenage pregnancies, rebellion and violence,” the research stated.
