‘Njoroge Wa Papa Shirandula’:SEE List Of Properties He Owns In Machakos,Kiserian And Nairobi

Actor Njoro, also known as Ken Gichoya, gained fame for his portrayal of the obstinate gardener in the popular sitcom Papa Shirandula on Citizen TV. Yet, beyond the realm of acting, Njoro has delved deeply into diverse business ventures and is the proprietor of rental properties.

As a father of three, Njoro oversees a bar, matatus, and a hardware store situated in Ongata Rongai, effectively managed by his brother-in-law. In an insightful conversation on Churchill’s ‘The Journey Series,’ Njoro disclosed that his genuine passion lies in the realm of business rather than the performing arts.

“I did not aspire to become an actor. My primary focus was on business,” he candidly expressed during the interview with Churchill.

Njoro attributes his business triumphs to his wife, who efficiently oversees all their enterprises. “I entrust my wife with the operations; she handles the business, and at the end of the month, she presents the financial records,” he remarked. The actor also possesses rental properties across various locations, including Joska, Mutalia, Utawala, Ruai, and Kiserian. He attributes his foray into real estate to his mother, who advised him to invest in land rather than a car early in his acting career.

During an appearance on ‘The Wicked Edition’ hosted by Dr. Kingori, Njoro recounted his mother’s wisdom: “Do not wait until you amass a large sum of money. Utilize the little you have.” Njoro’s rental income amounts to Sh10,000 per unit in Joska, Mutalia. However, he acknowledged the challenges of dealing with entitled tenants, narrating an incident where he had to weld a tenant’s door shut to compel her to vacate the premises after six months of unpaid rent. Eventually, the tenant settled her arrears with the assistance of her church members.

In Kiserian, Njoro faced a unique challenge when a tenant slashed his car tires, alleging non-payment of rent, despite evidence proving the contrary.

In essence, Njoro’s triumphs in the realms of business and real estate underscore that he is not merely a talented actor but also a shrewd entrepreneur.
