The death of Geoffrey Mwathi, the nephew of Kenyan artist Samidoh, has sparked outrage among club-goers who are demanding justice. Mwathi fell to his death from the 10th-floor apartment of DJ Fatxo, who is a popular Mugiithi star in the country.
The circumstances surrounding Mwathi’s death are still unclear, and his family is struggling to come to terms with what happened. CCTV footage shows that Mwathi had spent the entire day with Fatxo and three women, visiting three different clubs before ending up at the DJ’s apartment.
Reports suggest that Fatxo and the three women left the apartment, leaving Mwathi and two other men behind at around 4 am. Shortly afterward, Mwathi fell to his death from the 10th floor, leading his family to suspect foul play and pointing the finger at Fatxo.
The anger directed at Fatxo was evident when he showed up at Quivers Lounge on Friday. Angry revellers forced him out of the club, shouting “justice for Jeff.” The situation remains unclear, but the demand for justice is a clear indication that Mwathi’s death has left many unanswered questions.
