Kenyans have been left in shock after a 28-years-old mother from Trans Nzoia county allegedly murdered her own daughter.
On a report by the Standard digital, the 12-years-old Grade two pupil at Kiminini Primary School left home for fears of being beaten by her mother and seeked refuge at the the Chiefs camp in Kiminini town who handed her over to Kiminini police station.
The area chief quoted by the Standard digital said: “The report we have is that the girl disappeared from home on April 23 and on Monday, she sought the intervention of the chief to return her home.This is when she was handed over to officers at Kiminini Police Station.”
Adding;
“She was later picked from the Police station by her mother who is alleged to have beaten her that night before they went to bed.”
It is alleged that on Monday, 26 April, the woman picked a cooking stick and attacked her daughter.
After the beating, the family retired to bed and it was until Tuesday morning when the girl was discovered dead.
The heartless mother is held in police custody as police carry out investigations to determine whether the mother killed her daughter.
