Coast-based songstress Nyota Ndogo recently found herself compelled to address the public discourse surrounding her pregnancy, as concerns mounted over the perceived delay of her due date.
Taking to social media, the 43-year-old mother of two acknowledged the speculation and skepticism surrounding her impending motherhood. She expressed frustration at the pressure to give birth, asserting that she was not yet ready to welcome her third child.
In a detailed statement, Nyota Ndogo revealed that she conceived on May 27, 2023, at 1 pm, challenging doubters to employ their calculators to determine her expected delivery date. She emphasized, “Sijui tuliachilie ama tusubiri tuzae. Alafu mnaniarakisha kuzaa jamani. Mimba iliingia may tarehe 27 saa saba usiku. Hesabuni,” Nyota Ndogo urged.
The singer, expecting her third child with her 60-year-old Danish husband Henning Nielsen, shared a photo on September 5, 2023, cradling her baby bump without directly confirming her pregnancy. Later, she confirmed her pregnancy but disclosed that her husband had forbidden her from discussing it in the media. Nyota Ndogo explained that her spouse had only permitted her to talk about her music career with the press.
In a post, she apologized for her prolonged silence and explained her busy work schedule. She thanked well-wishers for their congratulations but clarified that her husband prohibited her from addressing her pregnancy publicly. Nyota Ndogo stated, “Samahanini sana nimekua kimya.
