The Murang’a police are currently investigating the death of a man who passed away in his accommodation on Wednesday.
Based on a police report acquired by Nairobi News, Fredrick Opiyo, a 50-year-old individual, made a reservation for a room at the Rurago bar at approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Around an hour later, he was accompanied by a female companion identified as Mary Mwende Munyalo.
After spending some time together, Mary contacted the lodge’s watchman when she heard the man groaning while she was in the bathroom.
The police report states, “At around 10:00 p.m., Mary Mwende Munyalo, a 35-year-old Kamba female, joined him, and they had dinner together consisting of fish and ugali.”
Subsequently, the man went into the bathroom and returned after a few minutes. He then suggested to the lady that they should sleep, but she requested to take a bath first.
While bathing, she heard the man groaning. Upon exiting the bathroom, she discovered that the man had undressed and was struggling to breathe. She promptly alerted the night guard, as stated in the police report.
Upon arrival at the room, the watchman and the lodging attendant discovered the man lying lifeless on the bed, unclothed.
Detectives from Murang’a, along with police officers from Maragua police station, promptly arrived at the scene. During their investigation, they found one used and two unused condoms.
In addition, the police recovered an empty sachet of Vega 100 (viagra) from the bathroom.
The deceased’s body was transported to the Murang’a Level V Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
