A high school teacher from Baricho High School in Kirinyaga County has been arrested for allegedly drugging and sodomizing a 23-year-old man at the Baricho Trading Centre in Ndia Constituency. The suspect, identified as William Kinyua, had been on the run but was finally apprehended by authorities on Wednesday. According to Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei, Kinyua roofied the victim, who was a car wash attendant, at a local hotel in Sagana after initially luring him to the town under false pretenses.
Reportedly, Kinyua enticed the victim, who was said to be intellectually disabled, with a promise of a pint of beer for a job well done. Once at the local pub, Kinyua bought the alcohol as promised, but the victim lost his senses shortly after ingesting it. The victim, who thought he had done a good job washing the teacher’s car, was later found naked and dumped around the Sagana River by a group of women who alerted the authorities.
Koskei confirmed the incident and stated that Kinyua had committed the indecent act sometime last week. He also added that the victim was taken to the hospital for medical attention after being found. Kinyua is currently being held at Baricho Police Station as he awaits arraignment.
