List of Kenyan Celebrities Who Featured in the Highly-Anticipated Reality Show “The Bahati Empire”

Diana Marua and her husband Kevin Bahati Kioko are poised to make history as the first Kenyan couple to feature in a reality show on Netflix, the world’s largest film platform.

The couple, who celebrated their 7th anniversary last year, shared this exciting news on their social media pages. This announcement followed a brief period of controversy, during which they exchanged jabs and hinted at a breakup online.

Bahati unveiled a banner on social media, announcing that their reality show, “The Bahati’s Empire,” will launch on Thursday, June 6.

“We were the first Kenyan family to have a reality show on National Television (Being Bahati on NTV) and now we are making history as the first Kenyan family to have a Reality Show on Netflix 🔥 All Glory Goes to Our Lord Jesus Christ,” Bahati wrote.

The artist, often at the center of attention, emphasized that they are not only the first Kenyan couple but also the first in East Africa to have a reality show on Netflix.

“It’s official! The first Kenyan/East African reality show on Netflix is #thebahatisempire premiering on Friday, June 7th, 2024… Oh Yes; I Know Y’all had Missed Us on TV… The King & Queen of Reality are back, and it’s time for us to answer all your rumors as we share our times with the World, Dirty, Clean, Sad, and Happy! This is unscripted… this is the best reality Kenya has ever seen… just trust me! Watch it on Netflix this Friday,” he added.

The show will feature prominent Kenyan celebrities such as The Murayas, Karen Nyamu, Jalang’o, Rev. Lucy Natasha, Comedian Terence Creative, actress Jackie Matubia, and the Diana Sisters, among others.

However, the couple has faced criticism for their promotional tactics. A day prior to the announcement, they caused a stir on social media by abruptly ending their friendship, especially on Instagram, and sharing humiliating pictures with broken heart emojis.
