In the meantime we’ve proposed some SWAP options for combo meals if you are craving some of our Kuku,” the statement read in part.

The assertion was anyway met with reaction with netizens questioning why the establishment imports potatoes as opposed to purchasing the promptly accessible produce from Kenyan farmers.

In his reaction, the Chief Executive for East Africa Jacques Theunissen clarified that a portion of the corporate standards and methods don’t permit the firm to source the key ingredients locally.

“The reason we cannot buy local at the moment is all suppliers need to go through the global QA approval process and we cannot bypass that even if we run out to ensure that our food is safe for consumption by our customers,” he said.
