Joy Wangari Macharia alias Joy wa Macari was born in Muranga county Kangema constituency Iyego ward as a second born in a family of four children.
Joy started her primary education at G3 primary school which is still in his homeward from standard one up to standard seven where she was later transferred to Nyakahura Primary School where she completed his primary education in standard 8.
After his form, four exam Joy joined the Kenya institute of media studies where she studied journalism.
