Police in Kibiko, Kajiado County, are investigating the shocking death of a four-year-old boy whose body was found floating in stagnant water a day after he went missing.
The child was last seen on September 5, 2025, reportedly in the company of his father before mysteriously disappearing. His disappearance triggered panic, with relatives and neighbours launching a frantic search.
The search ended in heartbreak the following day when residents stumbled upon the boy’s lifeless body in a pool of stagnant water. The discovery sent shockwaves through the community, with many mourning the loss of a life they described as “innocent and full of promise.”
Police officers visited the scene, processed the incident, and moved the body to the mortuary. A post-mortem examination will establish the cause of death.
Kajiado police boss confirmed that the child’s father has been taken into custody to assist detectives in piecing together the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
“We are handling the matter carefully, and our officers are working to establish whether foul play was involved,” said an officer close to the investigation.
The incident has sparked outrage and sorrow in Kibiko, with locals demanding swift justice if murder is confirmed. Community leaders have also urged parents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to authorities.
This case adds to growing concerns over the rising number of children going missing and later being found dead in parts of the country, raising urgent questions about child safety and protection.
