Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a scathing attack on Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, accusing him of incompetence and poor leadership.
Speaking during a public engagement, Gachagua claimed that Murkomen “does not understand himself” and is preoccupied with what he termed trivial matters instead of focusing on serious national security responsibilities.
He further alleged security lapses at the ministry, citing an incident where an individual reportedly accessed the CS’s office without detection and stayed overnight. Gachagua used the claim to question the preparedness and seriousness of the Interior leadership.
In addition, he criticized what he described as Murkomen’s lifestyle, arguing that the country requires a focused and mature leader capable of handling emergencies and safeguarding national stability.
The remarks add to growing political tensions, as leaders continue to publicly scrutinize each other’s performance ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
