45-year-old Geremi Njitap, a former Cameroonian football star who also had notable spells with Chelsea and Real Madrid, has recently initiated divorce proceedings against his wife of 12 years, Toukam Fotso Laure Verline. The decision follows revelations from court papers in Cameroon, as reported by The Sun, suggesting that Geremi’s wife’s ex-husband is the biological father of their twins, born four years before their marriage.

Expressing deep distress over the situation, Geremi, who earned 118 caps for Cameroon during his illustrious career, cited his wife’s alleged misconduct and repeated lies as reasons for the dissolution of their marriage. The leaked documents from Yaounde accuse Toukam Fotso Laure Verline of damaging their marital harmony through her actions.

The disclosure of the twins’ true paternity, confirmed by DNA tests, has reportedly caused significant emotional turmoil for Geremi. He described the revelation as a serious breach of their marital obligations, causing profound psychological damage.
