Following the recent assassination of Kasipul Kabondo Member of Parliament Charles Were along Ngong Road, disturbing allegations from his past have begun to resurface.
Reports and testimonies now paint the late MP as a controversial figure, especially in how he allegedly handled personal and political disputes.
One of the most unsettling claims involves the 2010 disappearance of a young woman named Dorothy Apondi. According to her family, Dorothy vanished while reportedly in the company of the MP and has never been seen since.
Despite numerous appeals for help, the family alleges that the MP failed to disclose her whereabouts. They claim that Dorothy had been offered a job opportunity in Meru by the MP—an offer that was never fulfilled. Her brother told the media that the last time they saw her was when she left with the MP under the pretext of employment.
The family further alleges that police reports made at the time were either not followed up or mysteriously went missing, starting with the initial report filed at the Oyugis Police Station.
Dorothy’s sister also spoke to NTV in a phone interview, claiming she had received threats over the years and firmly believes the MP knew what happened to her sibling. She recalled how their mother once confronted the MP, only to be met with a defiant response: “You can’t take me anywhere.”
According to the family, the MP had strong political ties, including a close relationship with the late Orwa Ojode, who died in a helicopter crash alongside former Internal Security Minister George Saitoti. Tragically, Dorothy’s mother passed away without ever learning the fate of her daughter.
As these old allegations gain renewed attention, they add a haunting layer to the late MP’s legacy—raising new questions about unresolved matters that may have been buried with him.
