Deputy President, William Ruto has been attacked by a gang of alleged hired goons during his Kondele tour in Kisumu today, November November 10.
Ruto had gone to woo in more voters to his camp ahead of the 2022 general elections.
It is reported that Sergent Robert Kimento attached to Londiani Police Station has been apprehended in Kisumu for unnecessarily detonating a teargas canister at the UDA Rally in Kondele.
Leaders allied to the DP have expressed their disappointment saying that it is the high time for Kenyans to not be used by politicians for their own interests.
Led by Kandara MP, Alice Wahome, the legislator said that the DCI should act decisively in making sure that those inciting Kenyans are apprehended.
“After what has happened in Kisumu today, barely a month since Junnet Mohammed threatened us that “Baba akishinda, serikali ni ya watu wa Nyanza’, one is left wondering what purpose the handshake was meant to play,” Wahome said.
We have had a dark past as a nation and we should have learned enough from that. By all means, we should steer clear of such political bigotry and intolerance. Politics of violence and tribalism won’t sell.
“Our focus should be economic empowerment and what uplifts every single one of us in the society without minding tribe or region so that we can prosper whole as a nation,” Wahome stated.
