Akothee: My husband wants me to quit social media and stop working

Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, a well-known musician and entrepreneur, has recently announced her decision to take a break from social media. In a statement released on Monday, she expressed her intention to focus on expanding her family.

As a mother of five, Akothee shared her plans to have a sixth child and requested some time away from her beloved fans to achieve this goal. She revealed that she is expecting to conceive between now and July of this year. Her doctor had advised her that it might be challenging to get pregnant immediately after her wedding on April 10, and thus, she wants to dedicate her energy to her love life.

Akothee humorously mentioned that if she doesn’t become pregnant within the desired timeframe, she is willing to put everything else on hold until she does. She expressed gratitude to her doctor, acknowledging that weddings can be draining and might affect her chances of conceiving. She also shared her disappointment upon receiving her periods, realizing that her doctor’s advice was indeed accurate.

In light of her aspirations, Akothee kindly requested her fans and followers to give her some time and space. She emphasized that she will be taking a break from everyone and everything, including social media, to focus on her personal journey of becoming a mother once again.

The 43-year-old musician revealed that her husband, Denis Schweizer, known as Omosh, has instructed her to quit her work, take a break from social media, and leave Kenya before Friday. She playfully referred to him as “Omondi the 7th dwaro Nyathimisteromosh,” humorously highlighting his firm request.

Reflecting on her recent wedding, Akothee expressed her joy and described it as an incredibly beautiful event. She confessed that she doesn’t think she will ever have another wedding as stunning as that one. However, due to their busy schedules following the ceremony, she and her husband haven’t had the opportunity to open their wedding presents.

Akothee and Mister Omosh exchanged vows in an extravagant ceremony held at the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club in Nairobi on April 10, 2023. The wedding was attended by their close relatives, friends, fellow artists, and notable politicians from across the country, with around 300 people joining in the celebration.
