“Uhuru Park Flooded! Thousands Gather for Rhema Fest 2025 in Powerful Worship Experience”

Thousands of Christian faithful filled Uhuru Park on Friday evening for Rhema Fest 2025, a mega prayer and worship event that temporarily brought Nairobi’s Central Business District to a standstill. The five-day gathering drew worshippers from across Kenya and beyond, culminating in a powerful night of prayer, music, and revival.

The highlight of the evening was the sermon by Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman, who captivated the crowd with a message centered on spiritual revival and personal transformation. At one point, thousands pressed closer to the stage as he spoke, creating a charged atmosphere of faith. Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey also led worshippers in moving renditions of praise and worship, transforming the park into a sea of song and dance.

Rhema Fest is convened annually by Reverend Julian Kyula, Founder and Senior Pastor of Ruach Assemblies International. Beyond his pastoral calling, Rev. Kyula is a businessman with investments in finance, technology, and real estate. His vision for the gathering is to create a global platform where believers can be taught, discipled, and inspired to influence society through faith-driven values. Over the years, the festival has steadily grown in popularity, attracting huge turnouts with its blend of worship, teaching, and fellowship.

This year’s event also drew the attention of prominent figures in politics and governance. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, and members of the judiciary were spotted among the attendees. In a striking moment, groups of Gen Z worshippers were captured marching through city streets chanting “Jesus, Jesus,” a sharp contrast to the anti-Finance Bill protests that recently dominated headlines.

According to event coordinator Steve Muia, close to 100,000 people attended Rhema Fest 2025. “This meeting has been a tremendous success, and we are very pleased with the turnout. In the last two days alone, I think more than 100,000 people were in attendance,” he said. The night also featured a surprise appearance by Apostle James Ng’ang’a, popularly known as “Commander,” whose entrance sparked wild cheers from the crowd.

Organisers hailed the event as a resounding success, praising the unity displayed across denominations and generations. As the curtain fell on Rhema Fest 2025, many left Uhuru Park describing the experience as unforgettable — a true moment of revival in the heart of Nairobi.
