Prominent Ugandan opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye was abducted while in Nairobi to attend the launch of a book by Kenyan opposition politician Martha Karua.
The 68-year-old landed in the city on the morning of 16 November and took a taxi to his hotel in the affluent suburb of Hurlingham.
A few hours later, he left the hotel, boarded a taxi and headed to Riverside Drive, some 5km (three miles) from his hotel, for a private meeting, according to his political allies.
This was the last time he was seen until he re-emerged in Uganda four days later.
What makes this incident even more remarkable is its connection to a prophecy delivered by Prophet Elvis Mbonye over a year ago, highlighting the growing relevance of prophecy in governance and national affairs.
On October 30, 2023, Prophet Mbonye foretold the disappearance of a “non-controversial” political figure, an event that would catch many by surprise.
While addressing thousands of congregants in attendance of his weekly prayer meetings held at Zoe grounds, in Kampala-Uganda, Prophet Elvis Mbonye prophetically revealed this saying; “There’s a politician here, he shall disappear, and there will be talk; ‘Have they have been kidnapped?’. This is not what you know because they will appear like there is no reason whatsoever, because they are not antagonistic. This is not what you have heard, what you have seen. This is something that shall happen and then people shall wonder; ‘Where have they gone?’ because they cannot be found and yet they are not controversial to experience some of these things we have seen and known. This is something different.’’
While concluding, Prophet Mbonye stated in the uploaded clip that, “The spirit of God says when that happens, more revelation will come upon us because it shall have come from here, and the eyes of the nations shall confirm that the eye of the LORD is indeed here.’’
Undeniably as precisely foretold ,this prediction has since come to pass, adding yet another instance to the prophet’s history of accurate revelations about significant national and regional events.
His global predictions include the resignation of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after electoral defeat, the release of Julian Assange following 14 years of legal battles, the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and unprecedented environmental disasters, such as the Dubai floods.
Prophet Mbonye also predicted the rise of Kamala Harris as a central figure in the Democratic Party, and the re-election of President Donald Trump further showcasing the wide scope of his prophetic portfolio.
