Prime Cabinet Secretary Mudavadi forced to address striking KUPPET teachers in Vihiga COUNTY

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi found himself addressing a group of irate KUPPET teachers today, who had gathered outside the Vihiga County Governor’s Office, demanding his attention.

Mudavadi had been visiting the Governor’s Office for a courtesy call ahead of a Diaspora jobs workshop in Vihiga, where he was slated to be the Chief Guest.

The teachers, who have been on strike since Monday, had barricaded the main entrance to the Governor’s Office, chanting slogans against the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and calling for Mudavadi to address their concerns.

At the time, Mudavadi was engaged in a brief meeting with the County leadership before proceeding to the workshop.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Mudavadi acknowledged the teachers’ grievances and assured them that he would bring their demands to the attention of the Cabinet. Despite his assurances, the teachers have vowed to continue their strike until the government addresses their demands.
