IEBC Discloses Their Next Move as Kalonzo Musyoka is Barred From Running For the Presidency

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has communicated its best course of action after the Registrar of Political Parties led by Anne Nderitu has banned Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka from running for Presidency as new details emerge.

As per the Registrar of Political Parties Boss, Ms. Anne Nderitu has claimed the move by Kalonzo Musyoka is unlawful and that he can’t undermine the law to run for the Presidency.

Ms. Nderitu has said that the Wiper is still in Azimio and to permit Kalonzo to run for the presidency should follow the necessary strategy of clearing his name including waiting for 6 months to exit from the alliance.

“They have always been in Azimio. How could he (Kalonzo) be saying that he wanted to be nominated as a running mate if they were not in Azimio? Those are just the usual stories in politics but what is important is to follow the law,” Ms. Nderitu has said.

sources inside the IEBC have also informed that though Kalonzo name was accepted, other basic inquiries are being raised in accordance with Mr. Musyoka’s eligibility in spite of Wiper going into an alliance with Azimio.

“Accepting (a name) is clerical so subsequently the team shall sit and deliberate on the same,” the IEBC official has said.
