This extravagant display was in celebration of the head pastor’s wife’s birthday, with affluent churchgoers choosing to shower her with blessings in the form of substantial amounts of Nigerian currency notes.
In the video, now widely circulated on the internet, melodious music played from the speakers as the pastor and his wife stood at the center, while congregants continuously sprayed her with cash, much like the tradition of showering a birthday celebrant with gifts. In addition to the cash-spraying, the church members presented her with a bouquet made entirely of money.
