Zerb set to visit Kenya for “Mwaki” Tour

The collaborative effort between Brazilian producer Zerb and Kenyan sensation Sofiya Nzau has emerged as the defining anthem of 2023.

Their track, “Mwaki,” has garnered widespread acclaim, earning them a dedicated global fan base. Zerb, capturing the moment on TikTok while riding in an Uber, expressed his astonishment as the song went viral, foreseeing a potential life-changing impact.

The success of “Mwaki” has not only made waves online but has also propelled Zerb to embark on a tour of Kenya. Muze Club, a renowned venue, announced the grand homecoming of Zerb, the creative force behind the global hit and Spotify’s #1 viral song of 2023.

The debut performance in Kenya is set for Thursday, December 28, featuring Resident DJ Vidza and Hometown Heroes Dylan-S and Sir.Loin on the decks from 10 pm.

Zerb, in an enthusiastic announcement on TikTok, shared his excitement about visiting Kenya for New Year’s Eve. He eagerly anticipates meeting fans and delivering a live performance of “Mwaki” alongside Sofiya Nzau.

Sofiya Nzau, living her dream as an international sensation, recounted her journey during a local TV interview. Starting as a house help and hawker in Thika town, she transitioned to professional music in 2020, driven by her husband, who also serves as her producer.

In the interview, Sofiya disclosed her previous occupations, stating, “I was a house help and a hawker before this. After the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I took a house help job before quitting in December 2020, then I started songwriting full-time.”

Her breakout track, “Mwaki,” infused with EDM elements, catapulted from TikTok fame to global recognition, turning Sofiya Nzau’s journey from a Thika hawker to an international artist into an inspiring success story.

Expressing gratitude towards Zerb and his team for their support, Sofiya highlighted the financial benefits she gained from the success of “Mwaki.” She emphasized the agreement in place to ensure she reaps the rewards of the song’s success.

“We have an agreement to make sure I benefit from the song and its success financially, which I’m truly grateful to Zerb and his team,” Sofiya explained. Clarifying the collaboration, she noted that Zerb rightfully utilized vocals from accessible platforms, acknowledging the typical practice in the industry regarding vocalists and producers.
