Popular TikToker Young Blood Kamotho recently broke down in tears during an emotional interview on Obinna TV as he narrated the heartbreaking story of his childhood and the betrayal that tore his family apart. His story, marked by pain, resilience, and ultimate triumph, moved many viewers to tears.
Kamotho revealed that his life took a tragic turn in 2015 when he was just 11 years old. His father, Bishop Kamotho—a wealthy man of God—shocked the family by abandoning his wife and 12 children. Even more shocking was that he left them for his best friend’s wife, a woman who already had five children of her own. To make matters worse, his father’s best friend was also a bishop.
The bishop brought the woman into their mansion and drove Kamotho’s mother away. Left with no choice, some of Kamotho’s siblings, including him, were forced to live with their new stepmother. Life in the mansion was no paradise—it became a house of torment. Kamotho described how he suffered constant humiliation, harassment, and even physical abuse at the hands of both his father and stepmother.
The emotional and physical trauma began to affect his school performance. Once a bright student, Kamotho started performing poorly. Eventually, he made the bold decision to flee from his father’s custody. Determined to find his mother, he traced her to a humble iron-sheet house (mabati) in Zimmerman, Nairobi.
There, he found her living in abject poverty, struggling to pay Ksh.1500 rent, which they often couldn’t afford. Despite being in Form Four at the time, Kamotho could barely attend school. He eventually sat for his KCSE and managed to score a D+, a reflection of the emotional turmoil he had endured rather than his academic potential.
Hope, however, came in 2021 when Kamotho’s mother bravely shared her story on Lynn Ngugi’s show, back when Lynn was still with Tuko. Her story touched the hearts of many Kenyans. Compassionate well-wishers rallied behind the family, donating and fundraising to support them. In an incredible act of kindness, a stunning Ksh.10 million mansion was built for them.
Today, Young Blood Kamotho says their lives have changed for the better. His mother is finally happy again, and the family is living in dignity and comfort. Kamotho’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, hope can rise.
