Senator Methu has fired a sharp warning at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, dismissing his recent claims of political dominance in Mt. Kenya. In a statement that has caught the attention of political observers, Methu questioned Kindiki’s authority and influence, challenging him to prove his “power” before issuing threats.
“Wewe Kindiki, unatutisha ukisema ati tutajua wewe ni mwanaume. Tafuta sauti ya kututisha kwanza,” Methu said, implying that Kindiki’s words alone are not enough to intimidate political rivals or sway public opinion.
The remark reflects the intensifying rivalry within Mt. Kenya politics, where multiple leaders are positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. By issuing this challenge, Methu is signaling that political credibility and influence cannot be claimed lightly and must be backed by tangible support and achievements.
Analysts suggest that such exchanges indicate a sharpening of political lines within the region, as seasoned politicians and emerging leaders assert their dominance and test each other’s limits. Methu’s comments could also be interpreted as a rallying call to his supporters, emphasizing resilience and confidence in the face of political posturing.
With tensions rising, the Mt. Kenya political arena is set for more public debates, verbal sparring, and strategic moves, as leaders like Kindiki and Methu continue to shape the narrative ahead of 2027.
