Through a warning, FAA has requested that planes exercise caution while flying as the Al Shabaab remains a danger to aviation.
The most recent warning is informed by the appraisals that the Somalia-based terrorist group, Al-Shabaab is as an active threat in the area.
“Such weapons could target aircraft at low altitudes, including during the arrival and departure phases of flight, and/or target airports and aircraft on the ground, especially at airfields located east of 40 degrees east longitude,” their advisory stated.
The courses listed by FAA incorporate those connecting Nairobi and eastern nations like Dubai (UAE), India, and China, among different destinations serviced by major airlines.
Others incorporate the planes employing the routes that bridge Eastern Kenya with Garissa district being on the list as it borders Somalia.
The warning comes only days after the French government issued a terror alert to Kenya warning its citizens of a possible attack in the country.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the alarm, forewarned its residents and expatriates from different nations to avoid crowded public places, classifying them as possible hotspots.
The embassy red drafted business centres, hotels, leisure centers, and restaurants among other most visited areas in Nairobi.
Germany additionally sent an alarm to its residents in the country. The two government illustrated measures its residents should take in the event of an assault and where to get prompt assistance including calling the consulate’s emergency lines and those of Kenyan authorities.
However, Kenya downplayed the alerts but assured everyone that law enforcement authorities were on high alert to counter any threats.
