“Tumeelewana na Bibi yako,” Tears as landlord waives man’s unpaid rent after ‘consultation’ with the Man’s wife

A Whatsapp exchange between a landlord and a tenant has sparked a range of responses on social media. The conversation took an unexpected turn when the landlord decided to waive the tenant’s rent after consulting with the tenant’s wife.

The conversation began with customary greetings, and the tenant acknowledged that he was aware of his overdue rent and promised to pay it soon.

“Yes, landlord… I still remember that I haven’t paid last week’s rent. I will tolerate it a little longer and I will pay… I’m sorry,” he apologized.

To the tenant’s surprise, the landlord then informed him that there was no need to pay the rent. However, the joyous moment quickly turned sour when the landlord revealed that his decision was made after consulting with his own wife. This prompted the tenant to question why the landlord was being so generous.

“We have reached an understanding with your wife,” the landlord replied.

In a fit of anger, the tenant demanded an explanation of the agreement between the landlord and his wife, especially since she was not employed.

“How can you understand each other when you know she doesn’t have a job?” he asked furiously.

The tenant, however, left him even more bewildered by responding that their agreement was beyond his comprehension.

“You wouldn’t understand,” was his enigmatic reply.

In response to the viral chat, some Kenyans advised the tenant to consider remarrying, while others suggested that he should accept his financial situation and allow his wife to continue consulting with the landlord.
