Tragic Final Moments of 17-Year-Old Boy Who Died After Nightclub Incident in Nairobi

A family in Kangemi is seeking justice after the tragic death of their 17-year-old son, Wilberforce Kisia, who reportedly died following an altercation at a popular entertainment spot in Nairobi.

Wilberforce, a well-known dancer and social media influencer, is said to have been assaulted by two security guards at VVIP Rooftop Club in Nairobi. The family says witnesses informed them that a disagreement with the bouncers led to the fatal incident.

“They said they were dancing until around 9 p.m. when one bouncer handed him over to a senior one, who then grabbed him by the neck and led him into a corridor,” explained one of Wilberforce’s brothers.

Wilberforce was last seen on the evening of Sunday, May 11, 2025. His family became worried after he failed to return home or respond to messages.

“The last time I saw him was Sunday. He told me, ‘I’ll be back Monday morning.’ But by Tuesday, there was no word. He wasn’t even mentioned on the club’s social media pages. That’s when I sensed something was terribly wrong,” said his brother, Kennedy Ambani.

Body Discovered Inside the Club

Reports indicate that Wilberforce’s body was later found inside a room at the club. A postmortem examination revealed that he died from injuries caused by a prolonged assault.

His mother, speaking through tears, pleaded with the authorities for justice:

“Please help me. My child is gone and will never come back, but help me get justice for him.”

According to available information, the two security guards suspected of assaulting Wilberforce have been arrested. However, they are yet to be charged in court.

Public Outrage on Social Media

Wilberforce’s death has triggered widespread outrage on social media platforms, where many users are calling for accountability and justice.

One user, Ghetto TV Kenya, wrote:

“Why take the law into your own hands? May his soul rest in peace.”

Another, Yagga, commented:

“He was just trying to have fun. He didn’t deserve death.”

User marcxencia added:

“It’s so sad. May his soul rest in peace.”

Similar Tragedy at Another Nairobi Club

This incident mirrors another tragedy that occurred on February 19, 2025, involving a Strathmore University student who reportedly died after an altercation with bouncers at Mass House Club, located at Ngong Racecourse.

According to the student’s brother, the body was discovered on a staircase inside the club. A police report later confirmed that the student had died from injuries sustained during the incident.

In response, Mass House issued a statement saying:

“Although we are unable to share detailed information regarding the incident, we at Mass House are fully cooperating with the relevant authorities in their ongoing investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.”
